⚠️ Clients Who Should Avoid or Be Cautious with Deep Fascial Release
Deep fascial release or medical massage that reaches the bone edge (periosteum area) can be very effective for chronic tension and restricted movement.
However, it must be performed with care. Certain clients may experience tissue or capillary inflammation if the treatment is too deep.
The following conditions require caution or may be contraindicated for this type of therapy:
1. Blood or Circulation Conditions
• Individuals taking blood thinners (e.g., Warfarin, Aspirin, Clopidogrel).
→ Risk of bruising or internal bleeding.
• Those with varicose veins or fragile capillaries.
→ Deep pressure may rupture small vessels.

2. Bone and Joint Conditions
• Osteoporosis or bone degeneration — bone edges are fragile and sensitive.
• Arthritis or joint inflammation in the treated area — avoid deep compression.
⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻
3. Acute Inflammation or Injury
• Areas that are red, swollen, hot, or recently injured should not receive deep fascial work.
Allow the inflammation to subside before any manual therapy.
⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻
4. Metabolic or Systemic Conditions
• Uncontrolled diabetes — slow tissue repair and higher risk of infection.
• Cancer or suspected tumors — deep massage should only be done under medical approval.
• Fever or active infection — treatment should be postponed until full recovery.
⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻
5. Pregnancy and Pelvic Conditions
• Pregnant clients should avoid deep fascial work near the lower back, hips, and abdomen unless performed by a trained prenatal therapist.
⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻
💛 Gentle Reminder
Every body is unique.
A skilled therapist adjusts pressure and technique according to your health condition and comfort level.
Always communicate openly during treatment, and consult your healthcare provider if you are unsure about receiving deep tissue or medical massage.

💢 Causes of Inflammation
When we apply excessive pressure, pressure, or separation of the fascia near the edge of a bone,
• microtrauma occurs, or small injuries to the capillaries.
• The body responds by sending blood and white blood cells to repair the damage → causing swelling, redness, warmth, or pain.
This is a natural inflammatory process for recovery. However, if excessive, it can lead to inflammation that causes prolonged pain.
